Ask HN: Djigzo Email?

2 points by windexh8er ↗ HN
Djigzo email encryption has been around well before the Snowden disclosures (I think I first looked into it about 3 years ago). I'm curious if any researchers have done any analysis on the underpinnings and foundational approach. While the package list is relatively short:

postgresql postfix openjdk-6-jre openjdk-6-jre-headless tzdata-java ant ant-optional mktemp wget libsasl2-modules symlinks (Debian packages list)

Some of the selections provoke curiosity on the fundamentals; postfix vs qmail, Ant & Tomcat (maybe I'm just leery of any Java in general today).

I would have thought with all of the concern around privacy in email Djigzo would have garnered an uptick in attention, but searching HN for references yields nothing. I have no ties to the project, but am curious of others impressions on it.
