Ask HN: Affiliate Beer Money... Possible?

There are several affiliate programs out there, I am messing with the more risqué ones right now. (sexsearch.blue74.com).

Is it possible to make any money using these affiliate programs, or is it all bullshit? Part of me thinks they are just to provide the referring site google in-links, without paying out... the other part is hoping to one day - buy that case of beer with hardly any effort.
