Branding for OSS projects?

I'm not coming up with much on Google, so I'm wondering if anyone knows whether something exists:

Are there any websites or communities that help to connect designers with OSS projects to help out with branding/website design? Or copywriters/UX people/other non strictly developer roles? How have you gone about getting logos and so on made for your OSS projects? Do most people just DIY to the best of their abilities?
