Ask HN: What's the next hottest thing for software engineers?

Lately it was mobile, what now?

I'm kinda interested in wearables but it doesn't seem I can develop much for this upcoming platform.

I don't consider data science/big data as a software engineer thingy. Sure there's frameworks and stuff we could do, but the core is analytics.
