BuildZoom takes the pain and uncertainty out of remodeling and construction. We do this by analyzing millions of public and private records to provide people with the insight and recommendations needed to optimize for a positive outcome. We already have over 600k monthly users in the $300 billion home improvement market and are growing rapidly.

We're looking for a uniquely talented writer with a strong background in quantitative analysis, to transform our data into compelling and interesting stories.

Here are several examples of the types of challenges you would tackle:

1. Quantify the return-on-investment for different types of improvement projects by studying how remodeling expenditures influence real estate prices. 2. Explore the impact of government policy on actual remodeling and construction trends. 3. Track the growth in emerging sectors of the construction market (e.g. residential photovoltaic systems)

This would be a great role for someone interested in the following:

1. Working with a well capitalized, early stage consumer start-up. 2. Tackling a very large, offline problem. 3. Being one of the first non-engineering hires and working closely with the founders. 4. The opportunity to grow into a strategic, leadership role.

Requirements:

1. Ability to write clean, concise prose that draws readers in. Journalism experience is a plus. 2. Proficiency with statistical and economic modeling. 3. Insight and interest in construction, remodeling and/or real estate. 4. Willingness to embrace the challenges that come along with early stage companies.

If interested, please e-mail jiyan@buildzoom.com with several writing samples and your cv or linkedin profile.
