Ask HN: Veeam or something else?

I have been asked to manage veeam[1]. I don't have any expreince with veeam or any vm backups. Can you give me some idea on managing something like this? I have started reading up on their documents but i wanted to get your ideas on this. What to do and things to avoid, etc...
