Ask HN: Lack of dating options in SV?

When I was on the east coast, I had considerably more dating options even though I made half of what I do now. It seems the only 20 something singles here are either overweight or just plain busted. I do not want to that bitter engineer in his late 30s that missed his shot at getting married, having kids, etc.
