Tips on finding a web developer job

Hi, I'm junior Web Developer. Admittedly, one of my weak suits is finding a job. I've only applied to job postings I've found on Hacker News and Craigslist. Besides talking to a recruiter, are there any other places I can look for a work?

Besides looking at monster.com or careerbuilder, which nobody uses anymore. What else am I missing here.
