Powerful to show peoples reactions both to the freckles and to the sunscreen.
Was anyone else surprised to find that sunscreens absorb UV rather than reflecting it? I'm curious why materials science facts led to that.
There are at least some sunscreens with ingredients (such as titanium dioxide) which will help reflect some UV light. I suspect it is the combination of absorbing molecules and reflective materials which will make up a better sunscreen.
Somebody should build a 'UV mirror' so I can avoid 'missing a spot' when applying sunscreen. Any way to apply a UV filter to the front-facing camera on a cell phone?
I suspect many cell phone cameras do have a UV filter, however it would be filtering out the UV. If UV does make it to the sensor then you could do the filtering and band shifting in software.
Someone please make this into a phone/tablet attachment for putting on sunscreen.
