Style Lend CTO Position - NY Based

On average, an American woman buys 64 new pieces of clothing a year–half of which she’ll wear once; accumulating about $50 B worth of items sitting unused in closets.

Style Lend is the latest player in the collaborative consumption space helping women monetize their items through an easy peer to peer experience.

Millennials are leading a migration away from ownership to subscribing and sharing: Spotify invades our speakers, Netflix our TVs, Uber our curbs, Airbnb our entire homes. Style Lend wants to give you access to the world’s most coveted closets.

CTO – You will be the most important piece to our technological puzzle at Style Lend. We are extremely picky and have THE highest standards. So you have to be awesome and one of a kind because all of the founding team members are ;)

Requirements:

• Experience in building your own company or apps • Someone who is entrepreneurial and hungry (you want to build a billion dollar company) • Scrappy, resourceful and iterative • Committed, hardworking and passionate • Proficient in idiomatic Ruby on Rails (or a similar framework) and care about code quality. • Keenly grasp scalability, systems engineering, design patterns, and algorithms

Details about our app:

The app uses Ruby 2.0.0-p247 on Rails 4.0.0 Backend tests are written using rspec, with test coverage around 80-90%, all tests are currently working. The app uses a RESTful JSON API with version 1 frozen.
