Ask HN: How do you induct new employees?
I work for a small (but long term established) software company. We are expecting fairly significant growth over the coming 5-10 years based on government contracts, and will undoubtedly need many new staff to handle the workload.
I am trying to put together an induction program that introduces staff to all areas of the organisation, and is able to properly align people to our values, goals and mission.
Does anyone have experience on how to develop an induction program, or any guidance for someone trying to develop one?
We have a HR staff of one, and I think we will need a solid program to grow in a sustainable way.
Edit: I should add, we already have a program that covers the standard policies, procedures, housekeeping. I am more interested in ideas or examples that people have experiences with that have made them think 'this is so much more valuable than where I used to work', etc.
