BuildZoom is a remodeling marketplace that is improving the transparency and predictability of the remodeling and construction industry. Through Big Data, we're able to provide unprecedented insights to a enormous, broken sector of the economy.

We’re looking for a talented communications professional to lead our communications efforts, develop our network of journalists and media outlets and generate visibility for our brand.

This is an opportunity for someone interested in the following:

1. Leading content/communications for a rapidly growing early stage start-up. 2. Understanding how Big Data is transforming consumer attitudes and behaviors. 3. Being part of a start-up that is solving an enormous, real world problem.

A typical day will involve the following:

1. Cultivating and developing relationships with media stakeholders, including journalists, analysts and publishers. 2. Collaborating with our chief economist to share findings and analysis with the media and develop new story ideas. 3. Share content through our existing distribution network and look for opportunities to extend the network.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. First-rate written and verbal communication ability. 2. Experience and enthusiasm for media relations & PR. 3. The creativity to develop compelling story ideas and discipline to see them through. 4. Ability to tell stories around numbers - proficiency with statistics and/or econometrics is a plus. 5. Passion for improving the way people think about real estate and personal investments.
