Even if it were 50,000 devices, it would be .5% of what they sold.

However, 50,000 faulty iPhone users with access to Twitter, Facebook, and every other social platform can make the issue seem larger than it really is

0.5% for every week of ownership, and users are also often extra carefull with a new device. I hope for Apple this number is a lot lower than yours.
