Product Designer (employee #1) to Organize the World's Code – Blockspring (YC S14) (angel.co)
We're not another local/social/mobile messaging app. At Blockspring, you'll help solve the big kahuna design problem: "how do I let my grandma run any piece of code on GitHub?"
As employee #1, you'll grow fast as a designer, but also be actively involved in product strategy, company vision, hiring, and much more. Working here is not for the faint of heart. We're building the plane as we fly it, and if you're crazy like us, that should get you excited.
We are 3 full-stack devs who love design. We've known each other since High School and College. We're all transplants from Chicago. We solve big problems and are funded to do so by Y Combinator along with the best angel and VC investors in the world. We share a wonderful office with another YC company in SOMA, San Francisco.
When we talk, please have a Dribbble, GitHub, or portfolio ready to discuss. We'll let you know asap if there's a good fit. If your work is great but you're not a fit for any reason, we're happy to forward your resume along our network.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Use your full range of skills from product design, interaction design, and visual design to craft beautiful and intuitive experiences. -Distill complicated problems into simple and elegant solutions. -Understand what makes experiences good or bad. -Love making things beautiful, and have a strong understanding of composition, balance, symmetry, and white space.
Shoot us an email at founders@blockspring.com with your portfolio if interested.
