Ask HN: Good resources to learn about Facebook's marketing platform?

Maybe a broad question, butI'm not trying to become an expert overnight. Just looking for some reading that can explain to me the tools and the platform in a pragmatic manner, with examples and such.

Perfectly happy to spend a few bucks running some experiments to help myself understand it better.

I haven't done much google searching, mainly because I'm not really sure what I should be searching for. I also have only browsed Facebook's documentation, but their documentation is usually only useful after you've gotten started and have some direction.

Like most things, I'm sure playing with it is the most valuable thing I can do for myself.
