Ask HN: What is the license under which HN data is made available?

I see that HN has an official API as well as several unofficial apis. I wanted to know if it is legally acceptable to use these APIs to extract data from HN for say a commercial purpose or for a hobby project. What if I create an exact clone of HN using HN API ?
