I cant stand that much Comic Sans.
That's nothing compared to the brochure: http://cs.nyu.edu/webminor/WPA_App_Minor_Brochure.pdf

This site, designed to get people to create on the web, should probably look a bit more professional BUT lets keep in mind that this is an outdated site, the "Intro to Flash Programming" listed in the brochure is not a course they currently offer accourding to the most recent course list: http://cs.nyu.edu/webapps/fall2014/courses

Yes I saw the brochure haha. Yes, of course, I get it's an outdated site. I wonder why it's still up right?
I'm sure someone worked hard on that, we should all definitely make fun of them.
CS department websites in general seem to be so, so very bad. Does anyone have an example of one that is good?
I would really like to see one too if anyone has a good example?
What's the point of this "Show HN" and what are you trying to achieve? Feedback?
You can laugh all you want but: (1) This is computer science dpt, not graphic design school website, so not really a story of cobbler's children with no shoes. (2) well, yes, this design _is_ bad but you cannot imagine how many times I wished for just dark grey text on white background, simple sans font, plain HTML tags, and minimum of images supporting the content. I just want to read the damn stuff, not to marvel at all these exotic google fonts, fixed headers, oversized stock photos and cutesy icons. I find that I press Readability's "read now" bookmarklet much more than I'd wanted to.
