Ask HN: How should a college student go about finding hardware internships?

I am a Junior Studying Electrical and Computer Engineering. I really want to try to find a hardware internship for the coming summer, but I don't have much work experience with hardware projects. I would love to be able to find something outside of my college town, however I do not know where to look. What is the best way to start this process?
