Ask HN: Any interest in a paid project?

Anybody up for a paid project - that aims to be a profitable business?

You are an experienced to very experienced web developer, you reckon there isn’t a MVP you couldn’t build if you put a good month or two into it full time. You like the idea of a profitable SaaS business, not a advertising driven or VC funded gamble. If it works you will have a growing income stream.. forever.

Entre’: This project. I’m pretty obsessed with it. The business will compete with some existing solutions (one in particular) - but that will help greatly with design and has proven the marketplace (read: clone it basically). This is a business vertical I know well, and am sure of the market potential, provided a good enough product execution.

I have 10k budget… The goal would be for somebody whom could live off that amount for at least 3 months and be 100% dedicated to this project to join up, and be the sole full time developer (or team of two). I would provide advice, product ownership, but not work on it in any significant amount. The 10k is just so somebody can fully concentrate on it, eat breath and sleep on it, not necessarily a market rate (depending on where you live/rates I suppose - the longer you could make it last the better).

Tech: This is a Twilio related business.. I know Twilio very well and the specific domain of what will be built, so your general web app dev experience is more important. Building a full SaaS app (things like landing pages, user registration, billing accounts, and all kinds of other things it takes to get a full business up) I prefer Ruby or Node.js on the backend so I can contribute - eventually, but mostly up to you. Front end - quite important.

I will share the exact project details if the work circumstances look amenable to you, and then you can evaluate it further to see what you think. Give me a shout (email on profile) if interested in the next steps..

- cheerio.
