AS HN:How to Stop the Government from Banning Encryption?

The US and UK governments want to Ban encryption and have access to all our communications. They use terrorism as an excuse. But those governments who collaborate with proxy regimes around the world target innocent people, activists who are peaceful and people who demand change and justice such as those who call for justice to mike brown or those who support revolutions against those corrupt governments. the question how can HN community work to prevent this from happening?
