Ask HN: How do I move from always stressed perfectionist to pragmmatic?
Currently I'm probably a mix of the perfectionist and the theoretical programmer from this post http://stevenbenner.com/2010/07/the-5-types-of-programmers/
I spend far too much time moving code back and forth trying to fit some mythical ideal, I feel like a sub standard programmer if I'm not using the latest tools or I don't have X% code coverage and I'm tired of it.
It doesn't produce anything of value, causes alot of stress and long working hours coupled with overdue projects.
It would be a great help if anyone can provide some blogs/books/resources or advice which might help me move towards a more realistic approach to programming.
