How to inspire young people to pursue careers in Computing?

I'm currently doing my PhD research around Computer Science education and it seems like most middle/high schools are a bit behind on what the current state of the industry is! I've worked with many bright students wanting to pursue a career in Computer Sciences but feel like the school is letting them down! I've run after-school coding clubs & the likes but just wondered if anybody has had the same experience and can recommend ways in which I can keep them motivated?
