It's difficult to "poach" people who are happy and well compensated. No one put a gun the these employee's heads.
I love Apple products, but what did they expect to happen when they colluded with other industry heavy-weights to suppress developer wages? This was bound to happen sooner or later.
Sadly that's exactly how most companies view their employees. I especially love hearing PM's refer to me and fellow tech team members as "resources" instead of "people". Nothing like being dehumanized on a daily basis.
No one is arguing that people belong to their employers. Poaching is a standard term to describe the process of strategically hiring people who are already working at a specific company.

And maybe that's because other technology companies have illegally colluded with Apple not to hire each other's workers to drive down wages?
