Ask HN: LOL at thinking hacker news is fair

I have been seeing my links never surface to the front page eventhough it has enoughf points, it makes no sense even thought it doesn't containe any controversial content? This is my lates submissions http://imgur.com/tWjIPSP and this is the front page. You can clearly see that my link has more upvotes but never makes it to the front page http://imgur.com/SgI97bA. This is unfair

That submission is obviously controversial and has probably attracted flags.
how is this controversial, its a study that might bring unknown variables into consideration when it comes to online harrasment.
