Ask HN: How to optimize self-learning under time constraints?

I have a job which I grew to dislike. It is mainly about numerical modeling using C++ and this is the only language that I currently know and also the only domain of its application that I am comfortable with. I have recently set on a path to learn web development in a attempt to change my career and, hopefully, become self-employed. I use MOOCs, books, and Treehouse for this. The problem is that I only have about 1-2 hours a day for learning because of family responsibilities.

I was wondering whether HN readers could share some tips for optimizing the self-learning process?
