Ask HN: Can you suggest me a Fourth Year Project in CSE field?

Hello,

I am a student in Computer Systems Engineering (which is a mix of CE and EE). Unfortunately, the fourth year projects that I am able to select are sort of dry and have not changed since 2008. I wish to do a project on a topic that is still developing. For example, I know AI and Learning are some of the words that are thrown out like pennies here.

Here are some of the things I worked with in my university so far. I learned how to code and interface the 8086, 8088, and HC12. I consider myself an intermediate in Java, Python, C. I have knowledge in Javascript and am primarily coding in that at the moment as a hobby. I have worked with microcontrollers such as Raspberry PI, Banana Pi, Arduino, and PCDuino already.

I am looking for suggestions, i want to do something interesting and challenging but not something too challenging. I am allowed a team of 2-3.
