Ask HN: Any luck with DigitalOcean affiliate service?

I'm a satisfied digitalocean client. I want to (experimentally) build my digital world self sustainable, where bunch of green papers don't turn to 0s and 1s. I find DO's affiliate service attractive. It would be cool if you guys share your experience about it.
