Ask HN: How many of you work for non-profits or the government?

I volunteer for a non profit (http://www.theoceancleanup.com/), does that count?

I work for the government. I use HN to enjoy startup gossip, but the real value I get out of it is the constant parade of new technologies to investigate.

HN has given enough to get our team onto CI. HN has helped me figure out how to get to the heart of what my internal customers need/want vs what they say (h/t to tptacek and patio11). HN introduces a trickle of new tools and techs and I cherry pick the ones that look like they'd fit into our organization and save us trouble. Sometimes an interesting process or organization post comes through and provides good fodder for our team to digest, in terms of being a more effective application development wing.
