This reads like a press release rather than a news article. It also doesn't explain the business very well other than "uber for tutors" - it mentions that Tutree hires tutors that are "top of their class"..but how? Spam them with email? Provide a good amount of $$?

Also how does it solve all the problems listed:

- "like sending emails" [how is this a problem?]

- "making sure you hire a tutor worth the money" [they never mention how they solve this]

- "finding a place to study" [Tutree mentions the tutor and student can then meetup at a place of their choosing...so what's different than before?]

- "finding someone cheap" [doesn't this mean you'll have a hard time retaining and hiring new tutors?]

> Among the many tutoring services out there, only a few stand out like Kumon, Khan Academy, Princeton Review, Wyzant, and Tutor.com. However, among all of there, not one company really meets the needs of college students. Most students enjoy and learn more during an in-person tutoring session. Tutree solves that problem.

If i recall correctly, most if not all universities offer some sort of free tutoring - either through learning facilities or professional organizations. Not to mention the many fliers posted throughout the walls of people marketing themselves for various tutoring.

What Tutree seems to really be solving is the "my homework/project/test is on Monday, and i need a tutor this weekend to help me through it" - they should be much more honest about this otherwise many may have trouble truly trusting what comes off as bullshit. The on-demand tutor is really a great service that can demand good/high service costs due to the very nature of how stressing college can be at times - but the title is wrong, this isn't "disrupting education", only attempting to find a better way to market what's already available.

Hiring tutors must be the hardest part for tutree or any other tutoring service. It would be a great service if 1 can press a button and get an in person tutor!
