This title is misleading. The TechCrunch article is, "Over A Year After Android Launch, ShopSavvy Finally Comes To The iPhone."

Agreed, it's a bit sensationalist.

The iPhone has had RedLaser [1] for quite some time - which works both with the 3GS and older phones, and from my quick test just now, seems to recognize barcodes faster than ShopSavvy.
