Why do tech companies and VCs not take part in the BDS campaign against Israel?

More and more universities and companies in North America and Europe take part in this campaign.

Because there's no profit in anti-semitism?
It's pretty tiring to hear this "argument" again and again.

Boycotting Israel is not anti-semitism.

Then what it is? You're boycotting a country because it's defending itself.
Because fashions change far more slowly in the business world than in academia? Because some of them are in fact pro-Zionist, or at least neutral in the matter? Because there is serious money to be made doing business with Israel?
I thought it was illegal (in USA) to participate in the boycott against Israel. McMaster-Carr got fined for accepting po's whose terms said the product or its transportation were not to involve Israel or Israeli owned assets.
