I don't think Java hate is really necessary here. The article is really bad in its own right.

If I have to guess I would say it's due to people voting before actually reading the article.
I wonder why a poorly written and naive article like this is on the front page.

Just read reason 7 about bytecode. Yeah.

I don't have Java but the article is like to say "IE is the best browser because: 1. You can surf the web..." kind of thing
