Ask HN: Why does nothing ever work in software?
Look through a bunch of software, decide lets take "libreboard" and "gitlab". And now, you enter a world of pain.
So we think, hey docker should solve this right, just docker pull and docker run some libreboard image right. Oh no, container cannot be started, and now you have to mess with port numbers and your iptables and add nginx as SSL terminator infront of your app. More pain.
A day later, and we still havent gotten around to doing anything on the project.
Got stuck in useless software problems, why cant anything be simple, why cant it be pacman/apt-get install/-S libreboard or gitlab and have it work?! Oh noes, you have to configure user, and setup database and connection strings. Vomit.
Why is it like this? Why cant we in 2015 even BUY software and "Click" until it works and we can do what we wanted to do?!
