Ask HN: Anyone Using Open Compute Project Hardware?

Years ago Facebook open sourced their hardware design and specifications via the Open Compute Project (at http://opencompute.org )

I've heard rumblings of various companies supporting it, but this still seems to be stuck in the Big Company Territory.

Has anyone bought off the shelf OCP products? How have the worked out? Can you suggest vendors for a small time project?

I'm looking for a quarter rack to a racks worth of servers over the next year. (But initially will be setting up a cluster in the lab for testing.)

Yes, yes, I have heard about AWS and know there are hosting services and I can rent everything from a VPS to bare metal. Please just accept that there's a reason I want to look at going this route.
