I have no idea who this person is (both writer and Tim Hunt) but the original article is the only one I see with an (alleged, since I have no way to determine who is right) transcript of the speech and a timeline.
The article you linked to starts with a bunch of uncited accusations and most of the links again link to articles with no actual transcript of what he said.
Thus far I am given to believe the article here rather than your link.
(Even assuming he did say these things, the behaviour of the others described in the article is still unacceptable since it appears no due process existed but immediate twitter shaming and witch hunt based on second-hand, incomplete, information...from scientists, I sort of expect better)
