This is ridiculously hypey. If it only works on Apple products it's not going to "destroy Google."
Not to mention does not match any of Apple's consumer mission
There is literally nothing here. Someone noticed that apple is calling it's in-OS searching "Spotlight", and concluded that they are about to launch a search engine.
Nope, apparently I'm not using it. Sorry.
Man who hates Google concludes "Everyone hates Google," writes blog post predicting their demise.
This piece is so inflammatory and (from what I can tell) stupid that it seems worthy of a flag.
So we are going to get a half-baked me-too search engine in Spotlight (yet you can't even search properly in AppStore), similar to a half-baked me-too Facebook in Google+, a half-baked me-too search engine in Bing, half-baked me-too Uber in RideWith, etc. Are all major technology companies going insane recently? Did creative folks escape and only unimaginative ones stay?
Apple is really just taking the low-hanging fruit of search results (like Wikipedia results and such) and "stealing" them from Google. I'm sure it is hurting Google a bit, but that's about it.
I'm not using it except to find Terminal and pin it on a fresh OS X install.

This is probably just more of an added convenience for the Apple OSs to assist with the overall UX. Reading more into it is speculation.
