[ 5.7 ms ] story [ 25.3 ms ] thread
Why's it off the frontpage after 3 hours and 100 points?
Because people flag the Reddit drama stories. They're getting tired of them, or they feel like the threads they generate are unproductive.
So they are using the flag as a downvote? I assumed the flag was just a "report" button.
Likely got hit with the flamewar detector.
And this is a poorer story, basically an analysis of previous stories. I flagged it.
There's a chance that reddit is simply not a viable business, and just because you amass a large audience doesn't mean it's monetizable.

Cut through all the drama, and maybe it's really about that. A weak, messy platform, with no focus, and no possibility of getting.

How many of us here would take a job at reddit? Not many, I'd bet. There's no real Engineering problem to be solved.

Yeah they're gonna have a pretty tough time recruiting after the shitshow and mismanagement and miscommunication by everyone (from the community itself, all the way up to the investors and board).

I wouldn't touch that company with a 10ft pole. ESPECIALLY in San Francisco where opportunity is abundant.
