They could at least have the decency to just secretly do it and then pretend like they aren't, like our government does. This is why physical switches and removable batteries are the only way forward.
I cancelled since their prices kept getting less and less competitive, and packages were taking a week to show up with "free" "two day" prime shipping. I finally had to report my card as lost to stop them from charging…
Call me crazy, but I still think VR is just going to be a small niche. It's not a question of who is making it, how much cheaper they can build it, or what PR machine is pushing it. It's just a bad form factor. They are…
My philosophy on anything like this, whether it happens to align with my beliefs or not, is that the truth shouldn't fear scrutiny. If a company, government, or person decides to show how right they are by banning…
I had it change to dark mode, then when I asked it to add a tasteful picture of a chicken to the center of the screen and it reverted back to white (sans chicken). Maybe someday I will get my…
At the speed the united states government works at whatever regulations they draft will be completely obsolete by the time they are in place.
Her voice has always been mostly software. 50-50 is probably a better deal than she is getting from her label.
That was my first thought. If I walked outside and saw some douchebag in a paperboy hat writing on my vehicle with a permanent marker I would start throwing rocks at them. The little game of fraud cat and mouse I play…
I wasn't aware that mental health apps were a thing that existed, though I have seen quite a few that have the opposite effect. I always assumed I would be dead and gone before we got to the point where people cried…
This was my immediate opinion as well. No doubt they were doing this with a profile picture from 8 years and 20 lbs ago too.
Sorry, I just saw this. It's kagi and I love it.
My kid goes to a small school and they buy new chromebooks every couple years. Most of them don't make it to that two year mark. I offered to fix some of the broken units for them for free since they don't really have…
I switched to Arch as soon as ubuntu started pushing snaps and never looked back. Of all the reasons to hate snaps what did it for me was the loopback device spam when trying to list block devices. Canonical has a track…
I don't use tap to pay so I decided to do away with that attack vector entirely. If you shine a flashlight through your card you can see where the antenna traces go. One hole punch later and I don't have to worry about…
I don't know what they are doing. Google search is so bad that people are appending site:reddit.com to every search just to find something that isn't SEO spam, and bard feels like it's from five years ago. Whatever they…
#2 is right on the money for me. I will spend three days failing to get started on something only to wind up being able to do three days worth of work in 5 hours just in time for a deadline. If I can get hyperfocused on…
After using a model M for so many years the model F feels too light. I am glad to see someone making a new model F for people that want them though. I just bought a Unicomp new model M to keep in a box for the day my…
A 3d mouse for modeling, and a second ten key on the left side of my 3d mouse so I can enter dimensions while my hand is still on the regular mouse.
It will be interesting to see how this attempt to re-bottle the genie turns out. Historically it achieves the opposite.
The low boom aircraft designs are something I haven't seen and are quite interesting. I have been under a few "non low boom" supersonics, and they rattle entire buildings and set off car alarms.
I tapped out about halfway. It reads like a college freshman trying desperately to turn the 100 words they have into a 2,000 word essay. There are entire paragraphs that had nothing to do with the story at all.
I work for a place that designs and manufactures parts for a lot of these NYC projects. There are several factors that slow them down, and every step of the process is horribly inefficient. We start the bid and design…
I use pandas just often enough that I can kind of remember what I am supposed to be doing, but not enough to actually memorize all of it. I have this printed off and hung on my wall.…
On a related note, I have noticed a correlation between perceived high blood amphetamine levels and reduced body weight at a few local gas stations.
