I hope the EU will follow soon. Or at least my home country. Since the EU already has different time zones, the stalling because "all should have the same time" doesn't make sense.
I do have an ancient Dr. Stika cutter plotter which works on an old WinXP with parallel port. I did try a few times to get it to work in a VM with an USB-Parallel adapter but haven't been successful so far. "Fixed" it…
And American prices are already insanely low. If I want to buy a RAM in Austria for $30k I get a used car with 150.000km. If I want a new one it's (much) over $100k.
I do have set up different workspaces for different development tasks where only the necessary plugins are activated. If I do embedded development I open my platformio.workspace, if I'm doing Java I have a workspace and…
Depends on the content. For some: yes, for sure. For some others I should get money back because I couldn't find what was advertised before (for example recipe sites that contain mostly Blabla with interspersed ads and…
How long ago was the second shot? There's a reason why Europe accelerated the start of the Booster vaccinations (third shots). Unfortunately there's still a lot of people that didn't receive their first shot willingly…
Looks great, just tried it. One feature that is missing: "reload map" or something. It's only showing things near my "real location"; but I'd also like to explore different locations (e.g. a city I'd like to visit next…
I'm still using my 12 (!) year old 17" MacBook Pro as daily work machine. Yes, it's not the fastest computer but for my usage it works. Granted, starting IntelliJ needs some time, but coding still works well (and…
Why not wireless charging? I don't mind the connector (lightning works well), better would be mandatory quality of the cables (the iPhone cables are regularly breaking).
I tried opera because I couldn't find firefox in the store. Opera worked about a month longer than the default browser, but doesn't work anymore.
My dad is using an old Android Tablet to surf the web. Unfortunately there hasn't been an update available for some years. This year it stopped displaying some websites because of a newer HTTPS algorithm which isn't…
That's an excellent idea. You could also add a cinema to an airport; quite often you have transfer times longer than a movie ...
That's a really great post! Good problem description, good introduction, explained code, meaningful and explained graphs, full source code available, conclusion and even possible further exercises. I wish (all)…

Sounds quite interesting. What's the best way to roll it out on bare metal? Is it possible to install/boot over PXE?
Isn't that what they are saying about the 737 max?
Same here, upgraded RAM and inserted an Hybrid Disk. It currently runs High Sierra (with the dosdude1 patcher, haven't been able to install Mojave). I don't understand why it isn't officially supported anymore, it still…
My 10 year old MBP17 still works, but it's good that finally there will be a replacement option available. Hopefully it will have upgradeable parts again (at least RAM and disk). So please start making bigger MBPs and…
However if you're getting used to the subway system running every 3-5 minutes you get agitated if you have to wait 15 minutes (or even need to plan when to arrive at the station)
Since it isn't linked anywhere on the site, in case somebody is looking for it, the code is here: https://github.com/WukLab/LegoOS
Why aren't they downloading the updates while charging? Shouldn't be too much effort to either install WiFi at the superchargers or run data over the charge cabling. Then maybe just update the "local" map data around…
Just tried to buy using PayPal - the $69 package. PayPal tells me that it would pay $82.80 without reason? I aborted the transaction.
Didn't know it, thank you very much for the tip. That tool would have come handy quite a few times already.
I like the idea and the illustrations are really nice. How is it with replayability? What about the lifetime - will it still be playable in x years (books can last some decades, websites usually don't).
I love it! So if you really would like to make more of them, I'd definitely be willing to purchase one! Great work!
