Thanks to many on HN who can't come up with any way to make a living that doesn't involve creepily probing the private data of millions of people, it's all down hill from here.
Obviously you haven't heard. Google isn't in it to make money. They just want to "help people". I saw it on reddit, so it must be true.
> Google's core is still about serving you information ...of their choosing.
I was about to post "here come the advertiser crocodile tears", then I found this post. Thanks for not letting me down!
> I know that mindset doesn't match many of the people here on HN Right, the people here on HN only support spying when they are the ones doing it to users for "ad targeting" purposes.
..."Posted from my iPhone in rush hour traffic!"
> PG always came across to me as unusually thoughtful and smart and friendly (let's be honest he's a great guy) He's also amazing and incredible and handsome and witty and strong and I love him oh so much.
Could also be replaced with "Ask <anyone mildly successful in the industry>" and applied to real life events populated by the same crowd.

"Amazon, Google race to get your DNA into their databases"
Slashdot still exists?
"We're horrible at our job, but if you give us a few billion more dollars and let us force people to remove their underwear at checkpoints, we promise to do better!"
"I want to be rich, how do I do this?" Is this yahoo answers?
This sounds like another completely pointless PR stunt to fool people into thinking Facebook gives a shit about their privacy.
You make many assumptions.
You mean a 'transformative' disruptive synergistic cloud experience offer?
I doubt it. Even if Google can't use the data they're getting from searches done via that service to target ads to specific people, they're still getting valuable data on what people search for generally.
It's a disruptive synergistic cloud experience!
Because it upsets people like you. It's also the way I personally choose to protest the corporate and government surveillance state we're living in.
> I see an issue with treating drug users (esp. recreational drug users) as somehow "less than human" because of their choices. The justice system only sees them as "less than human" until they can conveniently be used…
After reading comments here and on arstechnica, I'm terrified by the number of people who still seem to blindly trust our government and support the drug war. Another scary thing is how many people have "convicted" this…
It amazes me that people are still dumb enough to install apps from any of the social networks.
I have around 10 gmail accounts, each of which only receives random junk from various sites and mailing lists. I create compressed, encrypted archives that contain only random data, and use them to fill my "drive".…
