This article did not live up to the promise of its headline. I stopped reading part way through the meandering generalizations (with no references or citations) before I got to the main thesis.
How? The only method I'm aware of is using the browser's developer tools to spoof being a mobile device.
> SMS short codes don't work on VOIP phones My experience is mostly with Google Voice, but I've not found that to be true. Years ago that was the case, but these days, I've encountered by few that don't work.

All I know is that in the midwest, before Uber, there was maybe 1 taxi company near-ish (usually from a newarby town). You couldn't just call a ride- You'd have to look up the taxi company's number, schedule days in…
I don't know anyone who, when talking about heating, says "gas" and means "propane". "gas" is usually shorthand for "natural gas", usually from the grid. If they were talking about propane, they'd say that. But yeah- in…
At least in talking to friends in the US, we generally say "gas", "electric coil", "Electric flat top", and "Induction" if it was important to draw a distinction. I haven't encountered anyone who said "Electric" and…
Unfortunately, any citizen's initiative that is placed on the ballot in Ohio is an amendment to the constitution. This has an upside in that the legislature can't really override the direct will of the citizenry, but it…
I'd use "vehicle" to be more general than "car". If I just bought one, I'd know whether I bought car, truck, SUV(ehicle), etc. Although, in some cases, you might say "car" generically if the distinction doesn't matter.…
You should look at some of their dev blogs. Their engineering team has done some pretty remarkable things, like re-writing the game server to be deterministic so they could better deal with problems that occur in pro…
IME using teams about a year ago- I hated threads. The "reply" section took up a massive amount of space on the screen for each message and replying to a message took it out of the chronology of the channel/team. It's…
It can be very important. For example, Fujifilm released a firmware update for the X-T3 (2018) that provided some huge gains in autofocus performance, bringing the autofocus in line with the newly released X-T4. There…
You'll find radiators in many older buildings (before about 1930 or so, at least in my area). Some are steam and some are hot water. The problem with them is that they tend to have higher maintenance costs plus if you…
I've moved twice with all of my furniture and it's still going strong. The only thing that worries me for my next move would be the board on the back of my bookshelf, since it's only held in with very tiny nails.
Other than getting transactions automatically imported, which at least for me is the difference between using it and not using it.

I've been using it for a few weeks already. tldr: It's slightly worse than Google photos in most respects and quite a bit worse for albums. * The AI is fine, although not as good as Google's. * Albums are far less…

Everything I've heard in the past several years has been wildly positive. Granted, the sort of people talking on HN and Reddit about C# are maybe not also the people maintaining legacy VB6/WinForms/WebForms/etc apps.
I find the individual commits on feature branches to be more noise than signal after they are merged. They can be useful during review, sometimes, but mostly I want a cleaner history. > they really would like a complete…
