I agree that it's the best show on TV at the moment. Perhaps when it ends it's run in a month or so, some other show will be the best on TV. But for this summer, yeah, this is it, and it's great. USA picked it up for…
I am totally sold, because my github repos are numerous and I'd love to tag them all. But the tagging feature needs a cancel button, not just save. And drag and drop of the tags doesn't work, dragging them to the right…
I'm finding this whole thread interesting, but your comment is the inspirational one I'd hoped to find. Thanks.
Thanks!
With Mefi, one could always quote someone in reply to make things clear. Some of the best discussions online happen over at Metafilter. (I find HN interesting due to it's SV audience, but it functionally feels like an…
If you look at their history, RZA is brilliant at marketing.
This has always been my thought on the matter. I am surprised there's a controversy. The only times I've heard it pronounced 'jif' is by people unsure of the pronunciation and quickly corrected.
This is like a beat poetry version of "Who moved my cheese?"
Now I didn't, and wouldn't, say that. (That's a rather rude thing to say.) I do think that Susan Wilson probably doesn't need the money. But more importantly, I think this kickstarter (and however much notoriety it…
Perhaps you have a small child, preferably a girl, who needs training on how to shoot better pictures? You could probably write the kickstarter from your child's POV, too. If enough people want to see the resulting…
There are so many girls whose parents aren't millionaires who need our help that I am a little shocked that so many people were misled in backing this. I think Susan Wilson's comments on the kickstarter are a fine…
They need to indent their stylesheet, but that's an interesting perspective, and a nice overview for those needing a refresher as to the history of Google's tactic.
I'm very surprised that they rolled this out without the "sharing" features baked into Google Drive already. You can publish the contents of a spreadsheet, but you can't get at these notes. I know the announcement says…
You aren't the only one.
drive.google.com/keep/ keeps giving me errors. I don't see how this is going to be an Evernote-killer for me though. (I am actually new to Evernote, but it's been wonderful so far.) I actually don't like google's…
I can see the value in this, but I probably wouldn't use it. I run a WAMP server on my desktop and have made an Alias in my httpd.conf to my Github Repos directory, allowing me to cruise in and see example html pages…
Great advice!
I came here to say the same thing. Every day is a new chance to succeed, and no single day is your last chance. Happiness is a long game, and the process of getting older is a process of trading simple pleasures for…
??? Why?
Odd, there was that old Magpie RSS php library... I think calling this app Ravens has a better ring to it.
I'm disappointed no one has come up with a BAD SCIENCE browser extension.
The funniest use of I ever saw was in the Fraternal Order of Police's Maricopa county lodge webpage. They listed all of the other previous Sheriffs in Times Roman, but when at the bottom of the list they had got to…
I agree.
Thank you. I had the github page open for 2 days, but hadn't cloned the repo, then found out it was DMCA'd! I've been hunting around looking for someone who had mirrored it.
This contest is still spec work. Coca-cola can hire people with vision, it's got far deeper pockets than one would think. Billions deep. For them to exploit creatives like this is disgusting. NO SPEC WORK!
