I don't understand--I thought we have no ego. There is no self. There is even "egoless" programming.
I was thinking the opposite--most shell scripts seem to exist to show off arcane knowledge rather than document a task in the most straightforward way possible.
I find the idea of lossless versus lossy uploading of sentience amusing.
So how does Apple navigate the Singularity? Google has more projects directed at it, some explicitly like Calico. Perhaps I'll walk into the Google uploader and drop off my Apple watch and phone.
Then it's no longer race or gender--it's something else. Not that we'll be using anything like English or Spanish then.

One of the predicted outcomes of the Singularity is the removal of sex as a characteristic. Note that race would be removed as well. A posthuman (of whatever form) would be free of both sex and race.
