Super interesting - my friend has ME/CFS and/or Fibromyalgia and started GLP-1 but seemed to get only the negative side effects and not much benefit. Using Zepbound specifically. Is the Modafinil used for alertness or a…
Generally there Firms prize "first principles" thinking and don't put a ton of effort into leveraging previous engagements. Think of it like how engineers will throw out a solution and rebuild it rather than understand…
The whole fanbase is wondering the same! They have done a variety of multimedia experiences beyond light shows at their festivals and New Years Eve shows so are no strangers to using different tech. The most interesting…
I'd say a more accurate metaphor would be "I'm in debt and decided to ignore my biggest high interest loan in order to fully pay off my smallest low interest loan so I feel good about something" Sure it's good you have…
What makes your 40s so good? I'm approaching them and would love some more things to look forward to!
Speed will make accidents worse (deadlier). Acceleration will make accidents more likely. Sports cars flooring it from a stop, losing traction and hitting a telephone pole is like a whole genre of YouTube videos.
Does your daily routine change when you microdose? Do you still take the cold shower and meditate and all that regardless of it being a microdose day or not? I found that when I was microdosing it made me way more…
You might say they are using humans as an MVP/POC test for what their robots should be like. Make the humans as robotic as possible to see what features are really needed in the robots they eventually use.
I believe the response is to you stating you could hire junior devs at lower cost so that you can hire more people and therefore not be zero sum. Posters example is hiring 2 juniors instead of 1 senior. The senior has…
Steel vs wood doesn't really matter. The key to soundproofing is having sound absorbing mass in between walls. As long as you fill the gaps between drywall with a decent amount of insulation it should be reasonably…
True but hardware makes it obvious why the image looks the way it does and is consistent. Photographers can even tell what lenses were used for a photo by looking at it. Software makes it more of a black box. The same…
Something about vinyl specifically is the fact that there is a real break in the album when one side ends. It requires some thought and gives an additional aspect to artists when creating the track listing. For example,…
Brands of cars are still very obvious with badging and model names. They could be identical vehicles but people will still use the more expensive version to signal.
I agree 100% with the potency concerns. Many of the studies showing negative impact were using standards like "10 joints a day" which was easy to dismiss as that was an unreasonable amount of weed for most people. Now…
This looks quite promising for some challenges I'm facing. Do you do anything towards having a central source of truth for API contracts? Like a single repo with the specs so that when a change is made everyone can…

As a fellow anti-capitalist I struggle with how to live in a clearly capitalist world. I'm currently on track to retire at an average age or earlier and cynically view it as buying freedom from the system. In reality it…
I agree with your general outlook but would also question why we need to make "efficiency" a goal to be attained at all costs. Why not rotate who does the drudgery jobs so no-one gets stuck doing it day in and out? It…
Colorado had just shy of 87% voter turnout. Without getting into specifics that points to a state which is pretty easy to vote in (mail in ballots, easy access to ballot boxes, same day registation, etc.) By contrast…
I think there is another factor of Choice that needs to be considered here. If people were given the choice between losing power when it gets cold and saving money or paying more for more reliable power then it might be…
Trump made allegations about the last election as well, then followed up with his own investigation which found no evidence. Then he spent the last few months ginning up distrust of mail in ballots and instead of…
It isn't non participation though. You can participate in politics (local, state or federal) without consuming the 24/7 news cycle. The "news" is usually pushing doom gloom and fear no matter which side of the spectrum…
The challenge I've found is finding the balance between professional ambition and personal hobby/passions. I've recently lost much of my professional ambition and now feel a bit more of the competition aspect. I'm…
Oh yes totally agree, certainly there are many guests who have been rejected from appearing on JRE and yet he is being touted as heterodox.
