To install Windows 11 with a local user and/or to install it without the TPM 2.0 requirement, what I found easiest was using Rufus to prepare a flash drive with the Windows 11 ISO. Rufus asks if you want to create a…
Install the browser extension Unhook. It hides all recommended YouTube videos, so when you watch a video you aren't looking at a bunch of other videos to watch. It's very customizeable, so you can choose what to hide.…
I gave Firefox a try for a month, but ran into enough issues that I ended up switching back to Chrome about a week ago. Here are some of the problems I encountered that I can recall at the moment and doesn't include the…
If this case reaches the Supreme Court, one key consideration is the potential pressure to support the growth of U.S. AI companies. Rather than imposing strict legal restrictions that could hinder their ability to…
I'm no coffee chemistry expert either, but the following article indicates that the main adenosine receptor antagonists are caffeine, theophylline, and theobromine, all of which are found in coffee, tea, and chocolate…
I took 1 mg of molybdenum daily for about 3 weeks and then tested out drinking coffee. By this point I had tried many other interventions that did not help. I wasn't expecting the molybdenum to help but figured it was…
I had a similar problem. Coffee, decaf, even dark chocolate would be very stimulating and would mess with my sleep, even a single cup in the morning. I tried quite a few things to solve this and ended up discovering…
This one hurts... I visited the Living Computer Museum in 2017 and it was amazing. Here's a selection of some photos I took: https://photos.app.goo.gl/VUVXQ1cG3zWAMWY3A My favorite photo here is the one of the Xerox…
The article mentions this, but housing is so much more expensive now that it's by far the largest cost for some people depending on where they live. For example, my father's first house was less than 2x his annual…
Here's my personal experience switching from Plex to Jellyfin. Everyone's needs are different, but, for me, Jellyfin has been a much better experience. I used Plex for years and always hated it. It didn't let me…

There were two potential concerns about accounts and one of them has been resolved: 1. Requiring an FB account resulted in users who were banned on FB not being able to use their Quests. This has been resolved since…
I agree with the sentiment that the devices aren't being supported for long enough but thought I'd mention that you can install LineageOS on a Nexus 7 and get OS and software updates. According to Google, Pixel tablets…
For anyone wondering what this South Korean TV show thing is all about and want to check it out I suggest starting with Alchemy of Souls (8.8/10 on IMDB).
I read Hacker News through hckrnews.com and accomplish the same thing with a single line in my ad blocker browser extension (uBlock) filter list. Here's an example of the filter:…
The water is procedurally generated. I don't recall any other textures that were procedurally generated in the game.
This is interesting but the site is missing many important game technologies and incorrectly attributing some. The site lists Descent 3 as being the first to have procedural texturing and yet Unreal had it in 1998. Doom…
"less time managing their condition", is such an incredibly low bar. Edit: I'd like to see this contrasted with dietary changes and other lifestyle changes. Also, the words "artificial" and "pancreas" do not appear in…
I recall John Carmack contributing to some of these drivers, especially the ATI Rage driver. I think it's the driver being removed. Here's an example of his forum posts from 2000 related to working on some of these…
This article seems to imply that RSS users need to manually locate the RSS feeds. In all the RSS clients I've used, I just add the site by the main URL and it automatically finds the RSS feed if there is one, and this…
Can you use two browser profiles, one for personal and one for business? Or, if it goes beyond the browser, perhaps two OS users?
Read a variety of books. I read a lot when I was younger but regret that I stuck to a couple of genres and missed out on learning a lot more had I read a greater variety of books, something I did much later in life.
Perhaps the title of this article should be "I had an allergic reaction to my 1st shot and am unwilling to have a 2nd shot of any COVID-19 vaccine". In BC, you don't need to use the same vaccine for each shot to be…
