Lol tell me about the openssl version osx ships with. You have to install a 3rd party pkg manager to install a serviceable openssl pkg. not to mention the garbage bsd userland I have to immediately replace w/ coreutils…
When was the last time you used Linux? I installed Ubuntu on a Dell lappy provided by work, everything just worked and it required less tweaking than osx would have for serious SWE work.
I slap types on my elixir structs and even if it's not entirely comprehensive (success typing) it definitely helps with refactors and helps me catch bugs.
