I agree about the Spotify desktop app. It got worse and worse. But for me there are different reasons. Especially the performance got worse enormously. Still running the 0.9.7. The old Android apps were way faster, too.…
I've been a Posteo user for over 7 years now and I couldn't be happier. I also use it for calendar and contacts sync. It just works. But I doubt it is a Gmail replacement. It is a great email service provider though.
I think even 18 year old are too young. When I was 18 I would do all the stupid things. I would not trust this person at all. I think something around 25 or so is a good age. Not just this subject but in general.
Firefox has it at least since the last version. Probably it's disabled on your Firefox for some reason?
I'd be interested, too, but I think Germans will always try to adapt to English speaking folks, so I guess no?
Water! This might sound a little weird, but I use a nose spray (any atomizer will do) filled with water and spray on my closed eyes when I feel like it. I started doing this this year and it helped me tremendously. No…
I have this issue with my T470. I'd love to use some Linux distribution, but not waking up brought me back to Windows. A temporary solution was just keeping it on, which used up about 13% of the battery per night, but…
Because the modern web runs on Lynx.
I guess this is manually set by some employee, but I wonder if such links might have been also created automatically for some topics.
Yes! Slack, Teams, Discord, Spotify. All of these are horrible. I hate to use them. Good thing is I only have to use one of them. I wish there was more modern low latency software.
Exactly. These thin phones are just too thin for my taste anyway.
Agree, but USB-C seems so fragile compared to Lightning.
Except it’s not bullshit. EasyList does exactly what they promise: privacy. Prefetching is always privacy issue because you don’t know what’s running on the server side. They will log what I’m looking at and which sites…
If that was the truth I don’t understand how anyone would come up with the first statement, which is just to precise to be a miscommunication or whatever the reason is. That just sounds like damage control. I am really…
I was wondering about that, because I always thought, that HN was pretty open about everything and there wouldn’t be a lot of moderation or any at all. What is this? Facebook or Reddit?
Pretty neat! I switch between light and dark mode on all of my devices through the day depending on the lightning situation. I'd love to see the web app to switch automatically, too.
That was fun to look at, but I see you also have an issue with UI/UX on your website: you cannot easily reach the footer when scrolling down because of that infinity scroll.
The issue with Google is, that Google doesn’t care about privacy and randomly changes its behavior, like recently closing thousands of accounts for using the live chat in YouTube. This company isn’t trustworthy. I’d…
I wonder why no one, who implements some kind of JavaScript graphics library like this one, just mimics the Canvas 2D context API, so you could just drop this into your current application.
According to benchmarks Power fell quite behind it's competitors. I wonder if this will change anything in the future. https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=rome-pow...
Slack is a great example. My first thought was Jira. It’s a great software for functionality, but it’s so unbelievably slow that I tend not to use it at all. We have a quite powerful server for Jira and just five users.…
