They are migrating the api to a new domain and browning out the old one to get folks to switch over and figure out if there are any issues. There is also another infrastructure change going on as well. Normally those…
For as much improvement as there has been with what can be distributed via PyPI, there are still some domains that have gnarlier dependencies than wheels happily handle alone, and you either need to reach for the system…
Have you tried https://pixi.sh/ ? It brings Cargo/NPM/Poetry like commands and lock files to the Conda ecosystem, and now can manage and lock PyPI dependencies alongside by using uv under the hood. I haven't been using…
My local power company worked with a bunch of businesses in my town to install these rather than upgrade the dead end line for a few peak periods.
I gotthe habit of using 4” barrier webbing tape with gaffers on either side to make wire chases. That way there was nothing stuck to the cables and if another cable needed to run the same route, one side could be…
I remember reading that paper when I was trying to figure out why we were having issues with a wireless link down in the Patagonia fjords. Unfortunately we didn't have the hardware or enough control over the link (it…

I'm working on one. I am waiting for a PR to land and a release to get generated for a bug that I found. If the master pod in a StatefulSet is deleted, and kubernetes sets up a new one too fast, it currently keeps the…
It's a bit scary when you're using K8S ephemeral storage and depending on a basebackup from another pod, but you can also set it up to restore from your usual backup system (WAL-E, pghoard, barman, pgBackrest). That way…
