What changes to IPv6 would you make to make it easier to transition?
To reduce doing things twice there is NAT64/646XLAT. How many v4 addresses have you memorized, I normally use DNS or mDNS.
Do you have HW3 or HW4?
I'm assuming priorities and convincing the old guard it's something to do

So NAT64? https://www.nat64.net
What do you do about IoT devices?
Yes, certain extensions and settings (formatting) go along with setting up the dev environment: https://containers.dev/supporting
DevContainers allow for setting up your IDE with extensions, rules, and other configuration. They also support Docker compose so migration shouldn't be that bad
Ah, allows hiding behind a massively shared single address with less traceability.
You’re going to have to explain that one. I don’t see how CGNAT does anything but allow easier access to attacks (using private ip space outside of the local network)
Bangs but better
There is a way to bypass the AT&T Gateway using the following method (with hardware) https://pon.wiki/guides/masquerade-as-the-att-inc-bgw320-500...
Hex: 2001:db8:abcd:efab::1 Decimal: 32.1.13.184.171.205.239.171.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.1 Hex looks easier to me. Plus it has the upside of splitting well on /64, /60, /56, /48, /32 which are the common cidr splits in IPv6. Can…
https://google.com/ https://news.ycombinator.com/ https://www.netflix.com/ https://www.espn.com/ Not sure what you mean you can't use the Internet without IPv4. Yes some sites won't work but some sites don't work with…
I have deployed personal servers that are IPv6 only that's at least a handful of v4 addresses saved / v6 addresses used
Which is?
You're trying too hard Turn IPv6 with stateless RDNSS on (should be the default on all modern routers) ping6 google.com That's it as long as your ISP supports IPv6. No need to figure out a fd00::/8 that you maybe may…
What router do you use that doesn't support IPv6?
AT&T looks to be at ~ 68% already https://radar.cloudflare.com/as7018
From I remember Firewalla (app only) is more dependent on the cloud than Unifi
I believe NACS can do everything CCS can do (same number of pins) but in a smaller and easier to handle format. As an EV users I much prefer the NACS connector over the CCS connector especially in the winter when the…
Not sure I understand. Right now you should have dual stack, which should be easier than merging the v4 onto the v6 network. You didn't have to change anything to keep working with v4 and if you want to work with v6…
You'd still need to upgrade and change every device. There have been transitional software that used ipv6 but allowed for ipv4 address notation. [1] Example: ::ffff:0:8.8.8.8 The huge prefixes allow for a simple…
Good catch, that is correct. Thank you
