Barely Usable was created in 2015 based on the belief that the design and construction of usable products is extremely difficult and that the only way to learn usability engineering is to look, notice, and criticize usability problems and suggest possible solutions. The domain of usability has been well known for years, yet the awareness of its importance has been scarce. Barely Usable is meant to be a website where enthusiasts of user interface, user experience and human-computer interaction can collaborate on coming up with new and better solutions, making the world easier to use. We hope that gathering every resource together will help you develop the level of sensitivity necessary for creating usable objects. Barely Usable is brought to you by the founding team of Barvoy Inc.
  1. I discovered Devin Townsend and I love the use of contrast, especially during acoustic contracts. Reminds me Slipknot. What are you recommendations for more artists like that?

  2. There was a cool page linked on HackerNews several months ago. It had grid of icons demonstrating all ML algos and I think where/when can one use one of them. I forgot to bookmark it. Can anyone shed some light on it?…

  3. Cost of the fees can be $10k+. Typically one has no $$$ to actually execute and enforce a patent. It looks like to have a startup with IP protected by some legal paper, but realistically it's useless. Do patents even…

  4. I forgot where on GitHub did I see it, but someone made a list of frontmatter fields with their most common meaning. So it listed stuff like: "title", "author", ..., and some more exotic stuff people came up with. But I…

  5. I like it's minimalistic design and lack of BS. Wondering if you know any other sites like that. No matter if paid/free and whether it's business or not.

  6. Wondering how much work you've put into MVP to validate your idea, and how did you do it: mockup, video, prototype, doing stuff by hand with a primitive system.

  7. The iTunes drama is over for me and I'm looking for a replacement--in the perfect case something that is like WinAmp, but for macOS. I miss WinAmp. It just worked, was hassle-free and wasn't changing.

  8. Originally thinking about SQL databases done with PostgresSQL/MySQL, but would be interested in anything. Wondering about number of queries/transactions per second, and how you handled that scale.
